In the latest Cointelegraph Report, we sought to find out the real value AI brings to the crypto industry beyond the hype surrounding the technology. To do so, we looked into three main areas where AI is impacting crypto : trading, data analytics, and user experience.  For many years, trading bots have allowed users to execute trades in an automated way based on certain pre-set parameters.  With the recent development of Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, AI-powered bots are capable of processing large amounts of historical data, which can be helpful in predicting future price movements.  However, despite the latest advancements, AI-powered bots are still not sophisticated enough to elaborate complex trading strategies. “It's basically like having a bunch of dumb partners who can, who can adhere to very basic commands, but they can'...

Bitcoin price breaks from range with drop below $28K, and options tilt toward BTC bears

Image
About $570 million in weekly BTC options expire on Friday, and the recent macro and crypto news events have further tilted the advantage to bearish traders. On Aug. 16, Bitcoin closed below $29,000 for the first time in 56 days. Analysts quickly pointed to this week’s Federal Open Market Committee minutes, which expressed concerns about inflation and the need to increase interest rates, as the likely cause. Despite the immediate reasons for the drop, the upcoming $580 million Bitcoin (BTC) options expiry on Friday favors the bears. They could potentially make a $140 million profit on Aug. 18, adding to the downward pressure on Bitcoin and complicating BTC’s search for a bottom. Federal Reserve minutes did not impact traditional markets On Aug. 16, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell emphasized the 2% inflation target. This pushed the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield to its highest level since October 2007, prompting investors to shift away from riskier assets like cryptocurrencies in favo...

The pattern suggests aggressive buying as lows get steadily higher while highs stay around the same level, indicative of a higher selling pressure at the given level.  As of April 2, ETH's price is testing its horizontal level resistance range ($1,700-1,820) for a potential breakout move. NBA Top Shot is a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace that enables basketball fans to buy, sell and trade NBA-themed digital collectibles. These collectibles are "Moments" — NFTs of NBA video clips and digital art — available per their degree of rarity. In other words, users can trade NFTs that feature anything from a winning three-pointe from Luka Dončić to a dunk from Lebron James, depending on their availability.
